Philosophy

Harnessing global trends and proffering equal measures to addressing classical and emerging conflicts in its multi-dimensional forms. The one-year intensive program, combines a blend of relevant intermediate courses to help bridge the gap and prepare successful student for placement into Doctorate program in Political Science and related fields.

 

Objective

Transforming graduands into professionals in the study, management and analysis of conflict situations. To foster depth understanding of classical and contemporary conflict resolution and peace building mechanisms across board.

Study Modules

The course is designed to upgrade students to the methods and theories of political enquiry to accommodate intellectual development of postgraduate students.
  1. All candidates must:
  2. Candidates with recognized master’s degree in the relevant discipline may be admitted to the M.Phil. program as appropriate, on the recommendation of the appropriate Faculty Postgraduate Committee.
  3. Candidates with recognized bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Degree.
  4. Candidates must submit O’Level min. 5 Credits including Mathematics and English.

Conflict mediators, conflict resolution experts, conflict resolution consultants, re-settlement and reintegration experts, Consultants in Alternative Conflict Resolution Mediums amongst other lucrative sectors.

Teaching is carried out through a combination of interactive lectures supported by seminars, workshops, tutorials, case studies and informal one-to-one discussion. They encourage the development of clear analytical skills and create a forum where you can test your ideas against the arguments of your peers.
