Nile University Graduates over 700 Students, First PhD Class, in 9th Convocation Ceremony

Nile University of Nigeria held its 9th Convocation ceremony on 2nd and 3rd March 2022. In what was a well-attended and highly successful event, Nile University graduated 707 undergraduate (404) and postgraduate (303) students across five faculties (Natural & Applied Sciences, Engineering, Law, Management Sciences, Arts & Social Sciences).

The three best graduating students were Aisha Omotolani Adebayo (B.Sc. Economics, 4.99 CGPA), Abubakar Tunde Olatoyinbo (B.Sc. Economics, 4.95 CGPA) and Nana Aisha Alhassan Sule (LLB Public and International Law, 4.94 CGPA). The event also witnessed the graduation of the university’s first set of PhD students (26).

Addressing the graduands during the event, the university’s Vice-Chancellor lauded them for their resilience and efforts in overcoming the many challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to successfully complete their degrees, while re-iterating Nile University’s commitment to producing graduates that are sensitive, tolerant, inventive, creative, confident, and enterprisingly ready to achieve Nigeria’s main socio-economic goals.

Nile University’s commitment to excellence, he continued, has been further enhanced by its acquisition by Honoris United Universities, the first and largest Pan-African private higher education network committed to educating the next generation of African leaders and professionals poised to create impact in a globalized world. The improved facilities, including the newly completed state-of-the-art Faculty of Law building, and enhanced delivery approach facilitated by its membership of the Honoris network has further enhanced Nile University’s positioning as a developer of world-class African human talent with an entrepreneurial mindset and 21st-century skills to thrive in the globally disrupted world of work.
