Nile University Delegation Visits PTDF, Seeks Collaboration with the Fund

A team from Nile University of Nigeria visited the Abuja office of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) on November 30th. The Nile delegation comprised Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Sadiq Thomas (HOD, Computer Engineering), Dr. Petrus Nzerem (HOD, Petroleum & Gas Engineering), and Ms. Ijeoma Ezima (Marketing/Public Relations Officer). Hosting the Nile officials was a PTDF team led by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor gave a brief introduction of Nile University during which he highlighted the institution’s course and scholarship/discount offerings, among others. Prof. Aras further addressed Nile University’s strategy of entering partnerships with corporate, academic, and governmental institutions to boost graduate employability and promote Nigeria’s human capital development. He concluded his address by expressing his and Nile University’s desire to partner with PTDF to foster human capital development in the country.

Responding to Prof. Aras’ remarks, Dr. Gusau commended Nile University for its numerous accomplishments—including securing MoUs with reputable organizations like NITDA—within its short period of existence (11 years) and stated that PTDF is happy to explore collaboration avenues with Nile University. According to the Executive Secretary, PTDF is currently working toward collaborating more with state and private universities in Nigeria for its scholarship program. In this regard, he continued, Nile University, with its excellent reputation as a provider of high-quality education would prove a great partner.
