Delegation from Nile University Visits the NICE National Chairman

A delegation from Nile University paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Engr. Mrs. Aishatu A. Umar, FNSE, FNICE. The Nile team comprised Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar), Assoc. Prof. Abdulhameed Mambo (HOD, Civil Engineering), and Dr. Petrus Nzerem (HOD, Petroleum & Gas Engineering). 

During the visit, Prof. Aras thanked the National Chairman for her and the Institution’s support of Nile University in various capacities over the years, most recent of which was NICE’s award of a full scholarship to the 2019 best graduating student of the University’s Civil Engineering department. The Vice-Chancellor also re-iterated his delight about the recent MoU signed by both organizations, stressing that this partnership would contribute significantly to promoting Civil Engineering education in the country. 

Responding to Prof. Aras’ remarks, Engr. Umar reassured the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution’s continuous support towards the growth and development of Engineering education. She further stated the need to boost the employability of Civil Engineering graduates by restructuring the national Civil Engineering curriculum to equip students to meet the needs of the construction and infrastructural development industry in the country.
