A team from Nile University paid a visit to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, on June 29th. The Nile delegation comprised Assoc. Prof. Gylych Jelilov (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and Prof. Sarah Anyanwu (President, Nigerian Economic Society, and Part-time Lecturer at Nile University).
During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Gylych formally invited the Honorable Minister to the upcoming Economics Conference organized by Nile University in collaboration with the Nigerian Economic Society that is scheduled to commence on October 26th at the Nile University campus. Notable invitees to the conference, themed “Global Uncertainties and Policy Interventions for Macroeconomic Stability in Africa,” include the Vice-President of Nigeria and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Nile team and the Minister also discussed potential collaboration between Nile University and the Ministry of Finance in areas like discounts for the latter’s staff to pursue their Postgraduate studies at Nile, among others.
