Nile University’s Vice-Chancellor Leads Delegation to the Chadian Embassy

On Friday, 28th August 2020, a delegation from Nile University of Nigeria Abuja led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Osman Nuri Aras, paid a courtesy visit to the High Commission of the Chad Republic. In his brief speech, the VC congratulated the Chadian High Commissioner for his new appointment as High Commissioner of Chad Republic to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He thanked the Chadian High Commissioner for the warm welcome and the audience granted for his delegation.   

He briefed the High Commissioner about Nile University’s recent strategic partnership with Honoris United Universities, Africa's first and largest pan-African network of private higher education institutions. Prof. Aras also highlighted the efforts made by the University’s staff to ensure that the recently completed academic session was not disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, this feat “is a testament of our courage and resilience as a distinguished higher institution of learning and ready to deliver her best to the nation in particular and the world in general.”   

During the visit, Prof. Aras also extended an invitation to students from the Chad Republic and other Francophone countries that are willing and ready to study at Nile University. He also invited the  Chadian High Commissioner for a visiting lecturing role in the University’s School of Postgraduate Studies at a time convenient to the latter.
   
Responding to Prof. Aras’ remarks, the High Commissioner thanked the VC and his team for the visit and promised to honor the invitation for further discussion on how to start the collaboration with private Universities in Chad to attract more students to Nile University, especially from Sub-Saharan Francophone countries.
