Nile University Qualifies for the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) in Grand Style

Nile University qualified for the 26th edition of the NUGA Games, which is scheduled to hold in March 2022, in impressive fashion after emerging 1st position in all six sports it competed in during the NUGA Preliminary Games in Zone H. In the zonal preliminary, which was held in Anyigba, Kogi State from 15th – 19th March 2022, Nile University competed against five other universities for the right to be the region’s (Zone H) sole representatives at next month’s NUGA Games in the following sports: Basketball, Table Tennis (male and female), Lawn Tennis (male and female), Volleyball, Swimming (male and female), and Chess.

In what proved a keenly contested competition, Nile University emerged triumphant, claiming the sole qualification spot in each of the games it competed in. The other universities that participated in the Zone H qualifiers are Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL), Kogi State University (KSU), Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMinna), Federal University of Lokoja (FUL), and University of Abuja (UniAbuja).

The NUGA Games will commence on 16th March 2022 at the University of Lagos.
