Nile University’s Mass Communication Students Visit Kurunduma Village

As part of the partial requirements for the fulfillment of the course, Nile University’s Mass Communication students of Rural Broadcasting, accompanied by the course Lecturer (Mr. Tope Ojeme) and officials of NTA and AIT, paid a scheduled visit to Kurunduma village, a suburban town in Asokoro, Abuja Municipal Area Council. The Nile team was received by the Chief of the village, Chief Butrus, and his team comprising the village’s PRO, Youth Leader and Women Leader.

During the visit, the Mass Communication students and lecturer established the requirements for Rural Broadcasting professionally as discussed in class and further donated some relief materials to the village’s women and children. The visit was also streamed live on Zoom for the Department’s students as well as staff (which included the Mass Communication Head of Department, Prof. Osman Koroglu) who wished to participate remotely. It was also covered for broadcast on NTA and AIT by the officials from the respective TV stations that were present at the event.
