Nile University Signs MoU with NAPTIN

Nile University of Nigeria signed a MoU with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) on December 3, 2019. Addressing the NAPTIN delegation during the event, Nile University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Aras, stated that occasions such as the one in question are exciting times for the University because they represent progress in the latter’s efforts to develop Nigeria’s human capital. According to him, Nile University, alone, cannot achieve the development in the country’s human capital it seeks to since its resources, both human and financial, are limited. Thus, the University constantly pursues collaborations with both public and private organizations to achieve this goal.

Reacting to the VC’s speech, the Director General of NAPTIN, Mr. Ahmed Bolaji Nagode- MCIPM, MNIM, stated that NAPTIN, just like Nile University, was created with the goal of developing Nigeria’s human capital. In particular, he continued, the organization was created to bridge the skill gap between the university and the power sector. Mr. Nagode also echoed Prof. Aras’ sentiments about the need for collaboration between the nation’s public and private sector organizations if the full potential of Nigeria’s human capital is to be realized. He further expressed his desire that the MoU between Nile University and NAPTIN be one that yields tangible results, unlike other agreements whose impact tend to end on paper.

Following the DG’s speech, Mr. Nagode and Prof. Aras executed the formal signing of the MoU.
