Nile University of Nigeria’s basketball team took another giant step towards achieving its goal of qualifying for the National Division 1 League after winning its second straight match in the ongoing National Division 2 Final 8 in Lagos. The Nile team booked their place in the tournament’s semi-finals with an impressive 91-71 victory over Anambra. A victory at the semi-finals will ensure automatic qualification to the National Division 1 League for the Nile team (as only the top three teams from the ongoing NBBF Final 8 will progress to the higher division). The best three teams at the NBBF Final 8 will also represent Nigeria at the upcoming Intercontinental Basketball Championship. The Nile University team is billed to play its next match (against Discovery) tomorrow at 11am.
