This course aims to give you an understanding of how those decisions are made and encourages you to take an in-depth look at issues such as conflict resolution, democratisation and development, and systems of governance.

Politics will appeal to you if you have an interest in power, government, policy-making, social movements, debating ideas; understanding wars and conflict resolution, and the impact of globalization and world events. Throughout your degree, we will cover political concepts around these issues and more, comparing our own government, its policies and decisions, with those of others around the world.

Study Modules

Interested in how countries are governed, and decisions made? A degree in Politics may refine your power of judgment and critical thinking.
  • University Matriculation of 5 credit passes including English & Mathematics at O-Level; and
  • Approved Bachelor’s Degrees in Politics/ Social Sciences with at least 3rd class division; or
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) and/or professional qualifications cognate to Politics/ Social Sciences

Time on this course is spent in lectures, seminars, tutorials etc. You will be taught through seminars, group work, lectures, presentations, written reports, case studies and individual tuition.

The course could lead to a rewarding and exciting career in a range of sectors. Politics graduates have gone on to roles in education, the media, business, politics, charities, human resources and within the community**.

In 2020/21 the full-time tuition fee postgraduate students on this course will be N1,400,000 Per Session.
