Objectives:

  1. To produce a crop of scientifically minded individuals with vast knowledge of International Relations theories to distinguish themselves in areas of diplomacy and in the practice of foreign policy.
  2. To develop the student ability for objective and critical judgment to observe, understand and analyze political problems using diplomatic methods and techniques.
  3. To produce the requisite manpower with necessary skills and knowledge that can help in resolving international problems, conflict, and diplomatic challenges.
  4. To produce individuals who can contribute their quota to national development through knowledge of International Relations and Diplomacy

First Year

Second Year

This course will cover the evolution and interaction of different states and societies around the globe, exploring the history of world politics. We consider how foreign policy decision-makers and international organisations respond in the face of war, social movements, terrorism, political struggles, democratic advances and setbacks.

MSc International Relations & Diplomacy - FAQs

  1. University Matriculation of 5 credit passes including English Language at O-Level; and
  2. Approved Bachelor’s Degrees with at least 2nd class lower division.
  3. Approved Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) from a cognate discipline with not less than an upper credit.

This course will prepare students with useful skills for careers in diplomatic services, international organisations, non-governmental organisations or international business.

Teaching is carried out through a combination of interactive lectures supported by seminars, workshops, tutorials and informal one-to-one discussion. They encourage the development of clear analytical skills and create a forum where you can test your ideas against the arguments of your peers.
