Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty offers qualitative educational experience to equip students with adequate skills and knowledge that will enable them to proffer innovative ideas and solutions in the ever evolving world of technology and engineering.

Our students experience balanced learning cut across theory, practical lab work, and competitive course work by which their minds are creatively engaged to encourage research and inno- vative practices in line with world standard understanding and approach. Staff and students are also involved in various extra-curricular activities, including regular seminars and presentations, real solution projects and research projects funded by government and industry.

We make work experience part of the curriculum and support students in gaining relevant placement opportunities. We also provide advice and mentorship in order to help students tailor their careers and begin their integration in the workforce. The Faculty encourages students and staff to develop synergy across disciplines to facilitate the development of well rounded, educated, productive, and ethical individuals well versed in technology, social, and environmental issues.

The Faculty of Engineering is one of six faculties of Nile University of Nigeria Abuja. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across 4 departments. Established in 2009, the Faculty is housed in a large building with modern facilities. It has excellent teaching facilities and research laboratories.

Faculty Dean Message

The vision of the Faculty is ‘to be a first-choice engineering faculty for undergraduate and graduate education through innovative and creative teaching, research, entrepreneurship, and application of knowledge to benefit mankind both nationally and globally’.

Its mission is ‘to train and produce talented, innovative and creative engineers that will apply a broad-based knowledge to proffer solutions to topical issues confronting mankind both nationally and globally’.

The Faculty has approximately 460 students, of whom approximately 415 are undergraduate and 45 postgraduates. All our BENG degrees have been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Council For The Regulation Of Engineering In Nigeria (COREN). The Faculty of Engineering is at the forefront of basic and applied research and enjoys international recognition for its work. By focusing on cutting-edge and inter-disciplinary research, the Faculty is experiencing strong growth in its research and postgraduate programmes. The Faculty has MOUs with both educational and research institutions nationally and internationally. Similar MOUs with reputable industrial organizations are being pursued.

Welcome to the Department of Computer Engineering, Nile University of Nigeria. The curriculum of this department is designed for students who wish to master the art of computer application design and analysis.

Computer engineering focuses on the conception, analysis, design, integration, and evaluation of embedded systems, computing networking, and high-assurance systems employing microprocessor and microcontroller devices. Other goals include improving the performance and reliability of existing computer devices, as well as designing new systems around them.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is the pioneer department of the Faculty of Engineering. The discipline of EEE can be felt in almost every aspect of our modern life. It is not an exaggeration to say that all aspects of social infrastructure known to mankind are based on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The EEE program at Nile University of Nigeria is accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Our comprehensive curriculum provides the students with the ability to identify, formulate, and execute solutions to real-world problems. Our students learn how to use modern engineering tools in our well-equipped laboratories, with activities that reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom.
