Dr Akeem Amuda joined the Department of Civil Engineering of Nile University in 2019. He taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Geotechnical Engineering and related fields.
His primary research interests included the Offshore Geotechnics, Improvement of Expansive and collapsible soils, Physical Modelling, Embankment and Hydraulic Structures and Sustainable Engineering. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Malaysia Sarawak in 2019. At the University of Malaysia Sarawak, Akeem was a ZGS Graduate Research Fellow and a Research Assistant at the Centre of Research Excellence Construction on Peat Soils.
Dr Akeem held the 2019 Highest Publication Award for Faculty of Engineering Nile University and served on the editorial board and reviewer of academic publications. Dr Akeem has extensive experience in building and infrastructural construction for Government Agencies and Private firms. He has been involved in many construction projects which include the CBN state Office, Federal Court of Appeal Complex, Dams and Highway Construction. He is a member of Professional Bodies which include NSE, COREN, and ICE (UK)
