Biography

David Olowola is a seasoned Administrator with over 18 years (from 2006 to date) of cumulative service in the registry of three (3) universities in Nigeria, during which he has gathered varied professional experiences.

Having served in the offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Student Affairs, Council and Establishment as well as Academic Affairs Unit of Bingharm University, Karu, Nasarawa State, David Olowola was appointed as the Ag. Registrar of Bingham University on 1st December 2013. He held the position till 30th April 2017. During this period, he provided and supported the university in attaining significant growth in different areas.

In May 2017, David joined Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, as Ag. Registrar and later as substantive Registrar till June 2021. Within this period, he was able to provide and lead several initiatives and provide administrative leadership which resulted in many successes.

In July 2021, David was appointed as the Deputy Registrar in charge of Business Development and Expansion at Nile University of Nigeria. Subsequently, in November 2021, he was elevated to the position of substantive Registrar of Nile University, a position he still holds to this day.

A graduate of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State (Bachelor’s degree) and Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, Oyo State (Master’s degree), David is well-equipped with the necessary skills needed to fulfill the core mission and culture of the university registry. He has the goal of contributing to the maintenance of a robust registry department that is committed to the institution’s strategic priorities of student success, community, accountability, and excellence in fulfilling its core responsibilities of administrative management, course scheduling and registration, student records, graduation, degree audit, and academic catalogues. The progress made by David at Bingham University, Chrisland University, and Nile University of Nigeria attests to this.

David Olowola has a well-rounded skillset in administration, academic affairs, and documentation and honed talents in university organization and student management. Furthermore, David is a recognized expert in communication and a communicative collaborator. His previous roles have strengthened his capability for decision-making and high-level management, keen attention to detail, and accuracy. David is dedicated to high ethical and professional standards in all areas, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and privacy of staff and student records— past, present, and future— by adhering to the institution’s professional standards and guidelines.

Over the years, David’s professional career has been sustained through his membership in the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA), which has enabled him to establish career-enhancing relationships and network with colleagues. David has also attended several workshops on practices and administration of higher education organized by the Association of African Universities (AAU), Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria (AVCNU), and Association of Registrars of Nigeria (ARNU), among others. David is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (CIPAN)
