Biography

Associate Professor Petrus Nzerem is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Dean of Engineering.

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Polymer and Textile Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in 2004. Petrus then proceeded for a Master’s degree in Energy and Environment at the University of Leeds upon completing his National Youth Service Programme. In 2013, he obtained a Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science from the University of Manchester before returning to Nigeria to take up a lectureship position at the Nile University of Nigeria.

Petrus’ research interests include sustainable and renewable energy, waste-to-energy and chemicals conversion, petroleum economics, and drilling fluids.

He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Nigeria Society of Engineers, and also a registered COREN Engineer.
