Biography

Prof. Simeon Adelani Adebisi is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Pathology and Head of Department the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. He obtained his MBBS degree in 1990 from the University of Ilorin and won the faculty prize among other prizes at graduation. He obtained his MD doctorate degree and fellowship from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. His areas of research interest are Endocrinology and Metabolism together with Community Based Medical Education.

He has served as a member of Senate at the University of Ilorin, Benue state University, the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria at various times. He has also served as a member of the Governing Council of Benue State University, member of the Court of Governors of the College of Health sciences and member of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Management Board. At various times he has served as Head of Department, Dean of the Faculty, and the Provost of the College of Health Sciences of Benue State University.

At the national level, Prof. S.A. Adebisi is serving as an external examiner to many Universities in Nigeria; furthermore, he is an examiner at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, external assessor to many Nigerian Universities for appointment into professorial positions and past Chairman, Association of Provosts of Colleges of Medicine in Nigeria
