Professor Boaz Adegboro is a distinguished Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. He is a Harvard Fellow in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, a Fellow of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a Foundation Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria. He is renowned for his pioneering research on Group B Streptococcal Infections and his significant contributions to the development of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Nigeria.
Professor Adegboro served as the editor of the *Journal of Clinical and Experimental Microbiology* from 2002 to 2020. He has held several prominent positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ilorin (1996-2000), Chair of the Epidemiology Sub-Committee of the National Expert Committee on the Control of HIV/AIDS (1990-2004), President of the Nigerian Venereal Diseases Association (2000-2004), President of the Association of Pathologists of Nigeria (2000-2004), and Member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (2002-2006).
In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Professor Adegboro is the author of several medical textbooks and novels, including *Microbiology* and *Microbiology International*. His work has left a lasting impact on medical science and education in Nigeria.
