Biography

Dr. Timothy Onosahwo Iyendo is a senior academic and the current Head of the Department of Architecture at Nile University of Nigeria.

Dr. Iyendo obtained his undergraduate degree in architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Yola (now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola) in 2006. He earned Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University in August 2011 and November 2016, respectively.

Dr. Iyendo has over 10 years of teaching and research experience. He has published many articles in reputable journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, as well as in SCOPUS and conference proceedings. He has worked closely in research collaboration with academics, researchers, and scientists in Turkey, Cyprus, China, Iran, and Nigeria. His research is based on a transdisciplinary approach that includes fields such as soundscape and landscape ecology, therapeutic and sensorial architecture, the psychology of music and music therapy intervention, the psychology of art and art therapy intervention, evidence-based design practice, design education, indoor environmental quality, climate-responsive architecture, the effects of social media and the internet, and visual multimedia (visual arts and performing arts)/audio-visual intervention. In addition to his research achievements, Dr. Iyendo has actively contributed to the academic community through presentations at international conferences, workshops, and seminars. He is currently serving as an editorial board member of two journals, the Journal of Studies in Science and Engineering, and the Journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs.

From October 2020 to August 2022, Dr. Iyendo held a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, at Near East University, Northern Cyprus, Turkey. From February 2017 to July 2020, Dr. Iyendo served as a full-time lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture at the European University of Lefke, where he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor/Senior Academic in November 2017. Additionally, Dr. Iyendo gained valuable teaching, administrative, and research experience as a research/teaching assistant in the Department of Architecture at Eastern Mediterranean University from 2012 to 2016.
