Biography

Dr. Dimas Garba is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Nile University of Nigeria, specializing in international relations. Before joining Nile University in 2024, he lectured for 11 years in the Department of Political Science at Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, Nigeria.

Dr. Garba earned his first degree in Political Science from Bayero University Kano, followed by an M.Sc. in International Relations from the University of Essex, UK. He completed his Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations at FUDMA. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) from Bayero University Kano, which he obtained in 2012.

During his tenure at FUDMA, Dr. Garba held several key administrative positions, including Acting Head of the Department of Political Science, Pioneer Deputy Director of the Center for Democracy, Peace and Conflict Resolution (CDPCR), Pioneer Deputy Director and Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Pioneer Acting Director of the Directorate of Management Information System (MIS), a role he held until his departure to Nile University. He also served as Editorial Secretary for the FUDMA International Journal of Social Sciences (FUDIJOSS), Deputy Managing Editor and Editorial Secretary for the Journal of Conflict Resolution & Social Issues (JCORSI), and Editorial Secretary for the FUDMA Journal of Politics and International Affairs (FUJOPIA).
