Civil engineers imagine, design and create structures and the technical approaches necessary for realising large-scale projects that provide shelter, clean water, sanitation, transportation, energy security and safety from natural hazards.

Civil engineers require a wide range of knowledge and skills from understanding hydraulics and soil mechanics to structural design and construction management.

Our Civil Engineering courses will equip you with a sound understanding of the fundamental principles and the ability and confidence to apply them to solve practical problems.

You will study the following modules:

  • Soil Mechanics
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Civil Engineering Materials
  • Structural Analysis I
  • Engineering Mathematics I
  • Numerical Methods and Computer Programming
  • Engineer-in-the society

  • Structural Analysis II
  • Geotechnical Engineering I
  • Hydrology
  • Civil Engineering Practice
  • Transportation Engineering I
  • Engineering Mathematics II

  • Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures
  • Hydraulic Engineering
  • Transportation Engineering II
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering I

  • Law, Management & Entrepreneurship
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Design of Structure. In Steel and Timber
  • Water Resources Engineering
  • Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering II
  • Project

Regardless of whether you specialise in structures, water engineering, geotechnics, highways, project management or construction, you’ll need to be imaginative, inquisitive, confident, versatile and articulate.
