Nile University’s Senior Academic and Researcher Publishes Two High Impact (Q1) Articles in Nature and Elsevier

We are delighted to announce that Engr. Dr. Adekunle A. Adeleke, a Senior Lecturer in Nile University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering was recently published on two prestigious journals, NATURE (Scientific Report) and the Elsevier’s International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. Both journals are indexed in SCI and SCOPUS and rated 93% Q1.

Dr. Adeleke’s work on NATURE, which was co-authored by the Head of Nile University’s Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department, assessed the use of bentonite as an inorganic binder to briquette subbituminous coal fines and torrefied biomass using a novel technique. The products developed are feedstock for thermal plant used in energy generation. His article on the Elsevier’s International Journal of Hydrogen Energy reviewed the use of nanomaterials for hydrogen production.

Dr. Adeleke’s publications put him in the small, exclusive group of African researchers who have been able to meet both journals’ stringent conditions of quality and impact and, consequently, successfully publish their works in them. Dr. Adeleke’s aforementioned publications, are the latest in an impressive array of high impact papers published by him this year (2022).

Dr Adeleke is an ardent researcher with a focus on bioenergy, materials development and characterization. He has active collaborations with researchers/scientists in India, USA, Canada, UK, South Africa, Liberia, and Nigeria.
