Nile University of Nigeria signed an MoU with the Youth Education and Peace Initiative (YEPI) Africa on May 18th. In attendance at the event was a Nile team comprising Prof Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abdullahi Saleh (Director, Academic Planning), Mr. Murat Akyildiz (Chief Student Services Officer), Mrs. Modupe Aleshinloye (Director, Student Affairs), and Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar) and a delegation from YEPI Africa that included Mr. Collins C. Ezem, Barrister Ikechukwu Udozor and Mr. Leke Bayekwusi.
The event commenced with an opening remark by Prof. Aras, who expressed his delight about the MoU. According to him, the partnership between both organizations will enable Nile University to further its goal of bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Responding to the Vice-Chancellor’s remark, Mr. Collins Ezem thanked the hosts for the warm welcome provided to the YEPI team and commended Nile University for contributing to Nigeria’s human capital development through the provision of high-quality education to students. He subsequently gave a brief introduction of YEPI Africa and highlighted some of the organization’s activities.
According to Mr. Ezem, YEPI Africa was established to facilitate education among youth and promote peace in families, schools, and the community. To this effect, he continued, YEPI Africa has spearheaded many educational activities designed to ensure that education in Nigeria is easily accessible and innovative.
The meeting ended with an official signing of the MoU.
