Nile University Signs MoU with Jela’s Development Initiatives

Nile University of Nigeria signed an MoU with Jela’s Development Initiatives (JDI) on July 13th. JDI is a non-profit organization that provides access to portable water, blood donors, and mental healthcare opportunities for individuals— irrespective of their beliefs, gender, or socio-economic background—through a network of dedicated volunteers while upholding the values that promote youth empowerment.

The event was attended by a Nile team comprising Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics), Mr. Murat Akyildiz (Chief Student Services Officer), Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar), Assoc. Prof. Gylych Jelilov, (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Prof. Osman Koroglu (HoD, Mass Communication Department), Dr. Ngozi Anadi (HOD, Criminology and Security Studies Department). The JDI delegation included Mrs. Angela Ochu-Baiye (CEO/Founder), Ms. Angela Umoru (Chief Operating Officer) and Ms. Rita Akhabue (Programmes Assistant)

Addressing the JDI team, Prof. Aras expressed his delight about the MoU. According to him, the partnership between both organizations will enable Nile University’s students to develop leadership and community building skills necessary in bridging the gap between academia and industry. The Vice-Chancellor’s sentiments were echoed by Mrs. Ochu-Baiye, who stated that the MoU will facilitate expertise sharing and capacity building for both organizations.

The meeting ended with an official signing of the MoU.
