Nile University of Nigeria signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital Information Security Solutions (DIGISS) on February 9th, 2021. The Nile university team was led by Prof. Osman (Vice-Chancellor Nile University of Nigeria) and the DIGISS delegation was led by Mr. Mobolaji Moyosore (CEO, DIGISS).
The Vice-Chancellor, in his speech, expressed his pleasure about the MoU, stressing that it would prove beneficial to the University’s students, especially those in departments like Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, and Information Technology. In response, Mr. Moyosore stated that the main purpose of the MoU is to create a bridge between the industry and academia and ensure that students are equipped with relevant IT skills to contribute to the industry upon their graduation.
To this effect, he continued, the MoU would facilitate the development of the curricula of the aforementioned Science and Engineering departments, as well as the provision of mentorship, scholarship opportunities for students. The meeting ended with the official signing of the MoU.
Other Nile officials present at the signing ceremony include Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics), Prof. Saleh Abdullahi (Directorate of Academic Planning), Prof. Moussa Mahamat Boukar (Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences), and Mr. Murat Akyildiz (Chief Student Services Officer).
