On February 27, 2020, Nile University of Nigeria (NUN) signed an MoU with the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) to facilitate capacity building. Present at the signing ceremony, which was held at the office of the NUN Vice-Chancellor, were Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (VC, NUN), Prof. Nurettin Can (DVC RICOR, NUN), Prof. Ibrahim Keles (Deputy Dean FAMS, NUN), Dr. Umar Musa Mustapha (First Vice President, NIMN), Mr. Sidney Ogodo (Registrar, NIMN), Dr. Mrs. Florence Asemadahun (NIMN), Dr. Olawale Adetunji (NIMN), among others.
Addressing the NIMN team, Prof. Aras stated that the MoU signing event was a special occasion for Nile University because it marked another milestone in the institution’s quest to help its students actualize their dreams. According to the VC, the highly dynamic nature of the current world necessitates Nile University to seek partnerships with organizations like NIMN if it is to achieve its goal of equipping its students with the relevant practical skills to compete in the 21st century job market.
Responding to Prof. Aras, Mr. Ogodo expressed his optimism about the possibilities offered by the partnership. He stated that, as a regulatory body, it is important for the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria to constantly keep pace with the developments in the industry. One way of doing this, he continued, is by partnering with reputable organizations like Nile University of Nigeria. Mr. Ogodo concluded his remarks by stating that he hoped that the partnership would be the start of a long and productive relationship between the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and Nile University of Nigeria.
The event ended with the official signing of the MoU by Prof. Aras and Dr. Mustapha.
