The male volleyball team of Nile University emerged as champions of the maiden edition of the Life Camp Unity Cup after beating Nyanya Spikers 3-2 in a hard-fought final on October 31st, 2021. Speaking in the post-match interview, an elated Mr. Vincent Unogwu (Head Coach of the Nile University volleyball team) attributed the team’s triumph to their discipline and expressed his relief about being able to give the supporters who turned out en masse to cheer the team on reason to celebrate.
He stated, “I saw the victory coming because my players were disciplined. Even while losing in some sets, they remained composed and played to instructions and this eventually paid off. I was only tense at the end when I realized that we had more fans than I could have imagined and losing the final would have been a huge disappointment to them.” The Nile University volleyball team won the competition with a 100 percent record of four wins from four games.
