Nile University Receives Generous Book Donation for its Library

July 7, 2021— Nile University of Nigeria received a kind donation of over 350 books from Mr. Reginald Ihebuzor in loving memory of his wife, Dr. Mrs. Nnenna Ihebuzor.

The donation ceremony which held in the University’s Senate Room featured Nile officials including Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar), Mr. Eke Ndukwe (Ag. Library Coordinator), Mr. Murat Akyildiz (Chief Student Services Officer), Mrs. Fausat Aleshinloye (Director, Student Affairs), Prof. Ebele Amali (Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies), Mrs. Nike Bamisaye (Director, Physical Planning, Facilities, and Development), to name a few

The event started with an opening speech by the Vice-Chancellor who expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Ihebuzor for his thoughtful contribution to Nile University’s library and to Nigerian Education as a whole, stating that the value of education and the importance cultivating the habit of reading in students cannot be over emphasized.

Responding to the Vice-Chancellor’s remarks, Mr. Ihebuzor stated his reasons for donating the books. According to him, the donation was a way to honor the memory of his late wife, Dr. Mrs. Nnenna Ihebuzor, a lover of books who spent her life writing and encouraging youths to cultivate the habit of reading. Mr. Ihebuzor also added that donating the books was a means of appreciating Nile University for giving his children, who are enrolled at the institution, quality education.

The ceremony ended with the official presentation of the books to the Vice-Chancellor by Mr. Ihebuzor.
