Nile University Chapter Of NESA Holds Orientation Program

The Nile University chapter of the Nigerian Economics Student Association (NESA) held an orientation program on 6th May 2021. Present at the event was Assoc. Prof. Gylych Jelilov (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science), Dr. Nargiza Alymkulova (HOD), and Mr. Philip Nwankwo (Faculty Secretary).

The aim of the program was to introduce the members of NESA to the new executive council selected during the election conducted on April 22, 2021, and to inform students about upcoming events such as class tutorials, NESA competitions, sports tournaments, and more. 

The program started with an opening speech by Mr. Sani Yusuf Thurayya who was representing Dr. Kenneth Diyoke. He suggested that a departmental-tailored orientation program that is designed more specifically with the aim of enhancing opportunities peculiar NESA students was beneficial.  He also added that students should have a one-on-one relationship with their lecturers to improve moral conduct and academic performances.

Following the opening speech was a closing remark by Assoc. Prof. Gylych Jelilov where he encouraged students to take their schoolwork and extracurricular activities seriously as this would lay the path for their future.

The program ended with a group picture of the excos and members of NESA.
