Nile University Signs MoU with NIMechE on Graduate Employability

Nile University of Nigeria signed an MOU with the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) on February 26, 2021. Present at the MoU signing ceremony were Nile University’s representatives including Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Steve A. Adeshina (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Abdulhameed Mambo (HoD, Civil Engineering), Dr. Petrus Nzerem (HoD, Petroleum & Gas Engineering), Dr. Sadiq Thomas (HoD, Computer Engineering), etc. and the NIMechE team which comprised Prof. Mohammed Baba (National Chairman), Engr. Dr. Robinson Elijah (immediate past Chairman), Engr. Alhassan Abdu Mohammed (Vice National Chairman), and Engr. Dr. Kafayat Adeyemi, to name a few.

The event commenced with an opening remark by Prof. Aras, who stated the importance of investing into the future of Nigeria’s education sector and the efforts that Nile University has made in this regard. The Vice-Chancellor further expressed his optimism that the MoU would fulfill its primary objective of equipping Nile University’s Mechanical Engineering students with the necessary skills to thrive in the industry and contribute to societal development.

Responding to Prof. Aras’ remarks, Prof. Baba thanked Nile University for given NIMechE a great opportunity to further its mission of preparing Mechanical Engineering students nationwide to meet the needs of the industry through the MoU. According to him, the partnership will provide Nile University’s students with access to NIMechE’s numerous hands-on training programs such as robotics invention and auto card workshops, among others, equipping them with vital industry relevant skills. 

The meeting ended with the official signing of the MoU.
