Nile University Signs MoU with Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace

Nile University of Nigeria signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP) on 5th November 2020. 

Present at the MoU signing ceremony, which took place at Nile University, was a team from the COFP, which included Cardinal Onaiyekan (Founder, COFP) and Sister Agatha (Director, COFP), as well as Nile representatives comprising Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (DVC Academics), Prof. Ben Akanegbu (Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences), Prof. Ahmet Arabaci (HOD Political Science and International Relations), among others.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Aras expressed his happiness about the MoU. According to him, Nile University and the COFP have had a fruitful relationship over the years and the MoU was simply an act of formalizing an already very fruitful collaboration between both organizations.  

Responding to the Vice-Chancellor, Cardinal Onaiyekan stated that the MOU was a significant accomplishment for COFP as it will help in its quest to promote peace, social justice, and good governance in Nigeria and beyond.

To further solidify the relationship between Nile University and the COFP and contribute to the promotion of peace and social justice in Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor presented a full scholarship award to Sister Agatha to pursue a PhD in Conflict, Peace, and Strategic Studies at Nile University. 
The event concluded with the official signing of the MoU by Prof. Aras (VC, Nile University) and Cardinal Onaiyekan (Founder, COFP).
