The Vice-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, Prof. Osman Nuri Aras, accompanied by the Director of International Relations Office, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable High Commissioner of Uganda, H.E. Nelson Ocheger, on October 17. The Nile University delegation was received by the High Commissioner. After the exchange of pleasantries, Prof. Aras briefly acquainted H.E. Ocheger with Nile University’s offerings, accomplishments, and activities and expressed his sincere wish to establish a relationship with universities in Uganda. The VC highlighted the crucial role that the H.E and High Commission can play in the realization of this desire. H.E. Nelson Ocheger, after stating his pleasure to receive the Nile University delegation, expressed his satisfaction with Prof Aras’ proposal and made assurances of his office's full support towards the actualization of this potential cooperation. The High Commissioner also urged Prof. Aras to establish a sister university in Uganda, assuring him that Uganda has the necessary conducive environment to support this effort. Prof. Aras welcomed the proposal and assured the H.E that he was going to take it under advisement. Subsequently, the Vice-Chancellor extended the H.E. a formal invitation to attend Nile University’s 7th Convocation, billed to hold on October 26.
