Entry Requirement

The Master of Business Administration degree has four areas of specialization to cater to the various professional needs of our students. These areas of specialization are:

  • International Business
  • Human Resource Management
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Financial Management
  • Project Management
  • Leadership and Management
 
In the first year of the MBA program, all students are required to enroll in the same set of courses during both Semester I and Semester II. However, as students progress into the final/second year of the MBA program, which comprises Semester III and Semester IV, they are granted the opportunity to tailor their course selection to align with their chosen areas of specialization.
 

The Master of Business Administration degree is aimed at:

  • Providing students with knowledge and skills to enable them to enhance their performance and assume broader responsibility in the rapidly changing environment faced by the private and public sectors.
  • Providing students with the knowledge required for the understanding and practical analysis of problems related to the management and administration of public, private, and international organizations.
  • Producing managers that are capable of applying the appropriate management principles and techniques of problem-solving to the Nigerian environment and beyond.
  • Producing socially responsible managers who are mindful of accepted norms and ethics.
  • Producing managers who are equipped with relevant ICT knowledge and skills.
  • Producing managers with entrepreneurial skills and leadership qualities.
  • Providing interested individuals with the necessary competencies and skills to function effectively as academics in Business Administration.

MBA - FAQs

  1. Candidates for professional Master’s degree programmes must obtain a minimum of second class lower division.
  2. Candidates with university degree in third class or HND plus a university PGD at credit level pass, (i.e., CGPA of 3.0/5.0) or 50% on weighted percentage average may be considered for admission into professional Master‟s degree programmes.
  3. All candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision making and problem solving potentials.

Career options cover the breadth of management activity. For example, recent graduates* are now working as Managing Directors, Banking Professionals, Operations Managers, Investment Analysts, and Marketing and Communications Manager

We use a range of teaching methods with a significant emphasis on group discussion. You are expected to share your experiences. Lectures will provide the formal input to the modules. These will be supplemented by guided reading and case study analyses. We also use workshop, tutorial and seminar activities.

There are a variety of assessment methods, including individual and group reports, essays, learning logs, time constrained assessment activities and the dissertation.
