Chemical Engineering - FAQs

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • Direct Entry: Available
  • JAMB Subject Combinations: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
  • O’Level Subject Combinations: In addition to acceptable passes in UTME, the minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in at least five subjects at O’Level in nationally recognised examination including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other acceptable science subject in not more than two sittings. Credit passes in Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing are an added advantage.

Students will be taught through lectures, seminars and tutorials. They will be required to prepare and make presentations, take-home tests and assignments. There will also be written and oral feedback from the Professors.

As a graduate of this course, you may consider a career in a wide range of areas, including chemical manufacturing, environmental consultancy, nuclear engineering, scale-up and plant design, process plant trouble shooting, oil and gas, water, energy, food, research and development, patent law and teaching.
