October 24, 2019- Nile University of Nigeria held a press briefing about its upcoming Convocation ceremony scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 26. Conducting the press briefing were Prof. Osman Nuri Aras (VC), Mr. Yasar Aktekin (Registrar), Prof. Steve Adeshina (DVC Admin and Co-Chairman of Convocation Organizing Committee), Assoc. Prof. Kenan Kapuyaka (Director of PR), and Miss Sakina Zafar (Business Development and Strategy). The media organizations represented at the press briefing included The Nation, Leadership, Daily Trust, ThisDay, Ray Power, AIT, NTA, among others.
Delivering the opening remarks was Prof. Aras, who stressed the significance of the upcoming Convocation ceremony. According to him, the 7th Convocation ceremony is a very special event for the University since it falls on the same year of the 10th Anniversary of Nile University of Nigeria. Thus, the event will mark the culmination of 10 years of excellence for the University.
Following the VC’s remarks was a brief address by Prof. Adeshina, who provided detailed information about the Convocation, including the topic of the Convocation Lecture (ICT as a catalyst for Nigeria Economic Development in the 21st Century) and the number of graduands.
Subsequently, a question and answer session commenced, during which the Nile University team fielded the questions of the journalists.
