Nile University of Nigeria Set to Partner with NCC on Software Engineering, AI

The Vice-Chancellor of Nile University, Prof. Osman Nuri Aras, led a delegation to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on March 18th. The Nile University team comprised Prof. Moussa Mahamat Boukar (Dean, Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences), Prof. Nwojo Agwu Nnanna (HoD, Computer Science), Prof. Osman Koroglu (HoD, Mass Communication). 

Receiving the Nile University delegation was an NCC team including Prof. Umar Danbatta (Executive Vice-Chairman), Mr. Usman Malah (Director, Human Capital and Administration), Mr. Kelechi Nwankwo (Deputy Director, Research & Development), Mr. Usman Mamman (Head, Human Capital), among others.

Addressing the hosts, the Nile University Vice-Chancellor stated the University’s desire and readiness to partner with the NCC in the areas of Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Programming. In response, Prof. Danbatta (EVC) stated that the NCC was delighted with the visitors’ proposal and eager to explore it further. According to Prof. Danbatta, the Commission is always receptive to partnership opportunities with academic institutions as such collaborations play a key role in facilitating the development of capacity enhancement programs that are important to national development. 

In light of this, he assured the Nile University team of the Commission’s commitment to actualizing the proposed partnership between both organizations.
