Nile Delegation Visits NITDA

On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, a team from Nile University of Nigeria (NUN) led by the Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Osman Nuri Aras, visited the Director General (DG) of the National Information Development Technology Agency (NITDA), Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi. The visit, according to Prof. Aras, was aimed at further strengthening the relationship between Nile University and NITDA and exploring ways through which this partnership can further contribute to the country’s human capital development.

In his remarks, Mr. Abdullahi welcomed the VC and his team and congratulated Nile University on the achievement of an uninterrupted academic calendar even with the COVID-19 pandemic. He also commended the University for organizing seminars online, one of which he also participated, during this pandemic. He noted that although there is an existing partnership between Nile University and NITDA, the collaboration should go beyond the scholarship.

Furthermore, he suggested that the University management consider developing a new curriculum for new programs such as B.Sc. Machine Learning and B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence. He concluded his speech by advising that the NITDA Postgraduate students at Nile University be given a problem-solving oriented thesis that can add to existing knowledge and academic relevance.

Prof. Aras thanked Mr. Inuwa for his remarks and promised to bring his suggestions to the attention of the University management.
